Live on KITH-starter!
Over the years I produced multiple stories starring four brothers turned superheroes. Cinder, Jigsaw, Enigma and Kodiak were created by genetic experiments when they were just children. Freed by their strange alien father, they grew up with anything but a normal life, secluded under the city in a damaged starship.
Their adventures developed over time in a series of one-shot adventures I’ve published over the years, but they were never collected in any way, shape or form before. Those original e-books were published under a name shared with a now defunct universe are some of my favorite works. They deserve to stand alongside Lightweight, Smoke & Ash and my other works in their final form as a novel. But first they needed a new name.
KITH is a word most known as part of the phrase “kith and kin” to modern readers, but it effectively means the same thing as kin. Kith simply applies to family and those that one might see as family. KITH seemed an appropriate title for story about four adopted brothers and their alien dad.
Over the course of KITH, the brothers investigate the strange organization that created them. Drawn back out to the world with a fight against a deadly ninja clan known as the Hidden Dragon, the brothers have to visit various locales around the country and world as they search for answers.
Cinder faces a locked room mystery against a metahuman killer in New York.
Kodiak travels to a Texas bordertown, where lucha masks are as normal as pants and shirts. He teams with a trio of legendary lucha libre warriors as they seek to understand the mystery of the creatures that lurk beneath the Rio Grande.
Enigma finds himself trapped in a world of frozen time as he faces a threat greater than all others. A meeting with a strange woman might change his future forever…
Their enemies congregate against them and Jigsaw is nearly their first victim. Drawn into an epic showdown, the KITH find themselves locked in a war they might not escape.
KITH features the same character driven, action packed storytelling seen in the pages of Lightweight. With globe spanning adventures that allow them to see every corner of the planet, they have the potential for adventures unlike anything I’ve written before.

Today, I’m also using this forum to launch the first revealed stretch goal! If KITH can reach $500, the book will also include an exclusive never before seen bonus story. Set between the events of chapters two and three, the new tale will focus on Emma Briscoe, the human that first draws the brothers into the world. It will also feature appearances by characters from Lightweight and an upcoming novel to be launched late next year!
