New pre-order alert: Smoke & Ash!

My first full length collection of short stories can now be pre-ordered for Kindle. Smoke & Ash collects thirteen stories that run a gamut of genres from urban fantasy to superheroes to sword and sorcery. Every story takes place in the shared MHP Universe, with links to other titles already published and still to come!

Two completely new stories start and finish the collection and give it a title. “Smoke and Mirrors” introduces Audra Galloway, a girl struggling with her past and her last year of high school. Her life forever changes when tragedy mixes with a touch of magick to change her forever. The collection wraps with “Ashes of a God.” The story introduces a key era in the darkest corners of the world’s history, as the mercenary warrior Ash finds herself forced into the service of Janaia, Queen of Ophir, to raise a god from endless summer!

The collection also includes the long out of print “The Second Life of D.B. Cooper” focused on the legendary criminal’s time a decade after his infamous robbery and escape. From the pages of The Good Fight anthology series, I bring a story that remains the latest continuity tale I’ve written so far: “Heroes Don’t Retire.”

Several stories featured within saw original publication as independent shorts, but are collected together for the first time. This includes “Mad Maddie”, “Last Breath”, “Atomic Werewolf” and “Aquamarine.”
